Interactive video conferencing allows patients and healthcare providers to see and hear each other in real-time, even when they are in different locations. Providers using a variety of high-tech attachments (peripherals) can see and hear everything that they can when utilizing traditional medical instruments, allowing an experience as close to an in-person office visit as possible. There is a diverse range of tools available for interactive video conferencing and they can be used for a variety of purposes in both clinical and non-clinical environments.
